The Woman In Your Life

Tomorrow you may get a working woman, but you should marry her with these facts as well.
Here is a girl, who is as much educated as you are; Who is earning almost as much as you do;
One, who has dreams and aspirations just as you have because she is as human as you are;
One, who has never entered the kitchen in her life just like you or your Sister haven't, as she was busy in studies and competing in a system that gives no special concession to girls for their culinary achievements
One, who has lived and loved her parents & brothers & sisters, almost as much as you do for 20-25 years of her life;
One, who has bravely agreed to leave behind all that, her home, people who love her, to adopt your home, your family, your ways and even your family ,name
One, who is somehow expected to be a master-chef from day #1, while you sleep oblivious to her predicament in her new circumstances, environment and that kitchen
One, who is expected to make the tea, first thing in the morning and cook food at the end of the day, even if she is as tired as you are, maybe more, and yet never ever expected to complain; to be a servant, a cook, a mother, a wife, even if she doesn't want to; and is learning just like you are as to what you want from her; and is clumsy and sloppy at times and knows that you won't like it if she is too demanding, or if she learns faster than you;
One, who has her own set of friends, and that includes boys and even men at her workplace too, those, who she knows from school days and yet is willing to put all that on the back-burners to avoid your irrational jealousy, unnecessary competition and your inherent insecurities;
Yes, she can drink and dance just as well as you can, but won't, simply Because you won't like it, even though you say otherwise
One, who can be late from work once in a while when deadlines, just like yours, are to be met;
One, who is doing her level best and wants to make this most important, relationship in her entire life a grand success, if you just help her some and trust her;
One, who just wants one thing from you, as you are the only one she knows in your entire house - your unstinted support, your sensitivities and most importantly - your understanding, or love, if you may call it.
But not many guys understand this......
Please appreciate "HER"

Picnic

A change of ambiance provides picnics a touch of magic; and maybe that is what picnics are all about, even if the scenery merely shifts from the laptop to your backyard. The venue has not been decided and we need your valuable suggestions of an ideal place for such an outing. This is scheduled for the end of November and we expect the same coordination and support by each & all.

LEND A HELPING HAND

This thought has finally adapted a new mode in HCC. HCC as a team has come up with an idea of being a helping hand to the needful by arranging some collection which can be used for charity.

Each & every one of us has a heart to help but they are not on a daily basis, it’s either when you get a salary hike or any birthdays or special occasions like those. When many hands join together , it could bring great joy to someone out there with nothing to hope for.

Hence we have decided to arrange a collection at the end of every month and this is not a compulsory act. Only those with a willing heart can come forward & make this idea a success. We will not barge into your rooms and ask, those of you who wish to help can donate some amount to Mr. Roshan Roy Philip at the end of every month.The amount thus collected will be used for charity.

Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. . . As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

Are We Writers or Typers?

By Vivek Nair
(Continued...)

Though every article/blog or anything has been made out to be a "write"-up, isn't it really just a type-up? The other day I was trying to write a letter (snail-mail) to someone and I found that after about 4 lines of my neat, semi-cursive hand, my wrist had an annoying ache which I've never had in my days of writing 20+ pages of my Pondicherry University answer sheets. And on closer inspection, my handwriting was progressively deteriorating.

After just 4 lines, it was shocking how used to typing I was now, that my hands refused to hold a pen long enough to complete a letter. If after over 20 years of actual writing, the past few have obliterated the need to, I can't imagine how our next generation is going to be... And to think I was big on ink-pens and had a collection boasting Sheaffer, Waterman, Parker and what not. Good that I gave it all back to dad who bought them for me in the first place. At least I know that the generation before us are still used to scribbling on notepads and writing out lists and sending out postal letters.

In fact my bro n I used to go stationary-shopping in Cochin and bought all sorts of fancy notebooks (the paper variety and not the trendy laptops) and what not. And that's how I started writing a journal in the first place. And remember those 4-line books? The ones that were the practice books for cursive writing? I won't be surprised if they are out of production by the time the next generation goes to school. Some things are best left unchanged... and writing particularly has a big, old-world charm to it, something the future isn't going to appreciate much. Sigh!

Fun Unlimited

Mesmerizing breathtaking rides—doesn’t it say the whole story? A number of rides which puts you in chaos with your own self left behind no choice but 2 have your seat belt fastened and enjoying each & every moment of all the rides be it big or small. All were in the best of their spirits.

At the end of the day, it was worth the time & money spent and that’s why maybe people call it "Entertainment city".

Luck Favors Abbassiya 11

(Continued...)

Elected to Bat, Honeywell Kuwait, under the captaincy of Mr.Hanif Khan scored an astonishing 159 runs in the allotted 20 over’s, losing 4 of their wickets making it a difficult target for the Abbassiya 11 to chase. The elegantly place placed and timed shots of the captain, particularly through the covers, helped Honeywell Kuwait in attaining this gigantic score. The captain scored 72 runs in his innings.
Abbasiya team, under the captaincy of Mr.Joby Varghese displayed a winning performance in chasing the score of Honeywell. The strength of the Abbasiya team and all rounder, Mr.Kannan proved himself yet again, in leading the team to victory by a very small margin. Kann
an scored a steady 60 runs in his innings.
The wrong field setting and lack of proper fielding by the Honeywell team aided to the victory of Abbasiya 11. Abbasiya 11 attained the score of 160 runs in 18.5 overs, loosing 7 wickets.

Weighing heavily on the Honeywell teams minds will be Abbassiya 11’s recent victory over them in an attritional one-day played in Fahaheel. Honeywell Kuwait is all set to take on Abbasiya 11 in a challenge match, for which the date is yet to be scheduled.
